NICE on bedwetting

Published on 04/29/10

Consultation on a NICE draft clinical guideline on bedwetting by children and young people under 19 has ended.

NICE intends its guidance to apply to children of all ages rather than confining it to the over-sevens, noting that young children can experience adverse psychological effects. Proposed interventions include simple strategies (alarms and monitoring fluid intake, diet and toileting patterns) and care plans using desmopressin and psychological interventions. The guideline will be published in October.
