The Prostate Cancer Charity says there is an urgent need for research to find out why men from lower socio-economic groups are less likely than men from more affluent groups to receive radical surgery or radiotherapy for prostate cancer.  

Consultation on a NICE draft clinical guideline on bedwetting by children and young people under 19 has ended.  

Contraception charity Marie Stopes International has welcomed new evidence that oral contraceptives (OCs) are not associated with increased mortality. It says that fears about OCs may be founded in myths such as ‘there is no evidence that OCs are safe’, and concerned women will be reassured by the new findings.  

The bivalent human papillomavirus vaccine Cervarix is not associated with an increased risk of miscarriage, say investigators in North America (Br Med J 2010;340:c712).
